School Program

Have you received an AusVaxSafety vaccine safety survey through Vaxtacker for your child? If so, please be involved, we want to hear from you.

The information you provide regarding your child’s vaccination experience is really important to other parents and assists them in making an informed decision for their child’s health and protection.

The NSW School Vaccination Program has been providing vaccinations to school students within the school setting since 2003. These clinics are run by Authorised Immunisers who all have vast experience vaccinating adolescents.

The current program offers:

  • Year 7 students - Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis (dTpa) vaccines
  • Year 10 students - Meningococcal ACWY vaccine

Consent forms are distributed to students at school. Parents are asked to read the vaccine information, sign the consent form if they wish their child to participate in the program, then return the signed consent form to the school prior to the vaccination clinic date.

No child will be vaccinated without a signed consent form.

If your Year 7 or Year 10 student does not bring a consent kit home for you, contact the school and they will provide you with a kit.

Catch up opportunities are also available to students in:

Our teams will use every clinic opportunity to offer vaccinations to students who were missed at a school clinic for any reason.

Once your student has received a vaccine in the school program, the records are scanned and uploaded onto AIR (Australian Immunisation Register). This process can take between 3-10 days.
